San Francisco shows its best side during the holidays and 2017 is no exception, from beautifully decorated Christmas trees and palm trees at Union Square to ice skating at the Embarcadero, Transworld Schools students have many choices to indulge in the holiday spirit. Transworld Schools central location offers our students a variety of choices when it comes to celebrating Christmas.
Below is their selection of their favorite things to do in San Francisco at Christmas time:
1.Attend the Christmas Carol concert at the Geary Theatre
2.Take a holiday lights trolley tour in the evening
3.Ice skating at Embarcadero with their friends
4.Watching a performance of the nutcracker by the San Francisco Ballet, a much-loved tradition since 1944.
5.Climbing the hills to view and walk through the spectacular two-story, life-sized Gingerbread house at the famous Fairmount Hotel, made from 10250 homemade gingerbread bricks and decorated with 3300 pounds of royal icing!
6.Attend the tree lighting ceremony at Union square and do some shopping afterwards
7.Experience an arctic Winter Wonderland at the Academy of Science with snow flurries and two live reindeer on their roof!
8.Enjoy a holiday cocktail at one of the three Winter Wonderland pop-up bars at the old The Squarespace in North Beach.
9.Indulge in 12 cays of chocolate at Dandelion Chocolate while watching a screening of Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, what could taste better?
10.Watch the ultimate 80’s Christmas movie, Home Alone, at the Davies Symphony with a live score.
